The Advent Series: Easy Paper Christmas Decorations

If you’re looking for an easy way to decorate for Christmas, then here it is!

Today at school we had the task to decorate the classroom with the 5. Klasse (10-11 year olds). Obviously when you have a fixed amount of time and lots of kids it’s got to be simple, easy and effective. So that’s how I came up with this idea. I’ll admit I’m not original in thinking of this as a craft, after thinking about it I scoured pinterest for ideas and found that lots of other people have done very similar things. But anyway, I loved this craft so I thought I’d share it with you today.

It’s really easy, and all you need is;

  • Coloured paper (I used dark red, bright red and forest green)
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

And then the steps

  1. Draw several (I used 6) identical christmas trees on paper. You can either use a stencil or cut through the sheets at the same time – all that matters is that they’re exactly the same!
  2. Fold the paper vertically down the centre and staple it 2 or 3 times along the crease.
  3. Finally, fan all the bits of paper out so that it takes shape

Really easy, right? We hung them up using paperclips and string, but they also look cute stood around a room. If you give them a try, I’d love to see a picture. I’ve seen people make them with book pages or patterned paper too if you want some more inspiration!

Christmas Wishes,

Abi xxx
